How to Play Backgammon Online Backgammon is an ancient game with modernized versions for online gameplay. Your board may be virtual, but the rules and goals are identical. The objective of backgammon is to move all your checkers into your home board and then remove them from the board completely before your opponent does. The Backgammon Online board has been set up for you from the beginning. All you have to do is concentrate on strategy. Each player has 15 checker pieces placed across the board. Your "home" board is directly opposite your opponent's "home" board. Keep your eye on this area; it is key to winning the game. Each player rolls the dice on every turn.
